KORN Sign Partnership Agreement With Orlando-based SPEEDQUEST RACING
February 18, 2005Eric Burch of WhoWon.com has issued the following report:
In the spirit of the longstanding association between fast cars and rock 'n' roll, Orlando-based SpeedQuest Racing has reached an exclusive partnership agreement with the multi-platinum recording giant KORN. "We play fast, live fast and...drive fast," said KORN's Jonathan Davis. "Getting into the driver's seat with the SpeedQuest racing team is something we have been looking forward too and are totally psyched about. There's nothing quite like going 100 miles per hour while blasting your favorite tunes, and now we have the opportunity to get even more involved in the world of fast cars."
KORN has stayed in touch with their audience through personal contact, and their notorious fan-based approach to the business in general. As it happens, the moniker for the American Le Mans Series is "For the Fans", and SpeedQuest Racing will adopt these theories to make sure that racing and music fans alike are made a large part of the show from Sebring and beyond. "We are all equally excited about the crossover in fan base between the band, the race team, and the racing series itself," states Team Director Eric Burch.
"I believe this is an amazing opportunity, not only for myself as a driver, but also for the fans of the American LeMans Series," says SpeedQuest's Chicago driver Romeo Kapudija. "I have always thought that music and racing are a perfect combination and now we have a unique chance to showcase the mixture of both." It is obvious that cars and music influence each other. Car makers are paying millions of dollars sampling songs to increase brand recognition and sales; STING for Jaguar, LED ZEPPELIN for Cadillac, THE WHO and THE RAMONES for Nissan, and who could forget BOB SEGER's "Like a Rock" for Chevrolet. For generations, music and fast cars have been synonymous with one another and now we can unite the two on one stage.
